"Out Of India"

Saturday 20 March to Sunday 21 March 2010

Pat Archibald and I had a two week working textile holiday in India in December 2009. One of the results is this "Out Of India" weekend. It will include block printing, making an elephant or camel or horse wallhanging, using lots of embellishments, Indian food, an Indian show and tell (what we bought and some of the great stories behind the textiles), a slide presentation and a competition with an Indian prize.
Cost is £180 (this includes accommodation Friday and Saturday, all meals, leaving Sunday afternoon). The cost is reduced for non-residential quilters. Accommodation is limited for this weekend.

This is a design workshop which is suitable for the keen quilter (not necessarily advanced) with an interest in design. It will also be a follow on from her 5 day workshop (Travels From Colour & Cloth to Quilt) that has taken place here with huge success twice in 2009. Cost £380
Please note that, for those of you who like pottery or who have admired some of the pottery I have, this workshop sits neatly in between the two Potfests we have here in Penrith. Potfest in the Park is Friday 31 July to Sunday 1 August (slightly more arty). Potfest in the Pens is Friday 6 August to Sunday 8 August 2010.
